What Aviesto covers
Aviesto is your personal system for photos, family, travel, wealth and property — one local app on your own machine. Memories, documents, dates and finances share one data set and one calculation engine; wealth and property are two of its areas, not the whole. Everything below runs without a cloud.
Household & family
Household book with a 30-day analysis, the money licence as an entry module, family tree with family map, local face recognition in your own photos (trainable by click, no picture leaves the device) and memory albums as an HTML photo book, multi-user with person views, interface fully in German and English. Photos come straight from an iPhone (Android untested) into the archive: first into a visible staging folder, then verified into the collection — with an honest duration before you start, nothing twice, and a pulled cable costs no progress.
Travel & chronicle
Planning with stops, transport legs and bookings including documents, costs per currency with ECB rates and a budget bar, day view on the go; afterwards the chronicle from your own photos and the digital travel album as an HTML photo book. The trip's WhatsApp group chat can be imported: pictures and videos move into the chronicle after checking, the history stays readable day by day, and short original quotes from it can appear in the photo book — selected locally, nothing without your approval. Tours get a map of their own: recorded on the phone or taken over from your Strava archive, with track, heart rate, sport and times — a later export only adds what is new, your titles stay.
Living Documents
Free knowledge as Markdown: decisions, protocols, travel reports, diaries in one central vault, linked to people, properties, projects, trips, cases and things — an inline editor with live preview where you work, templates, links that always show the current name, living elements (person with profile picture, picture, project status), backlinks, full-text search. On a security as well: the investment thesis with buy and sell signal, purchase price, current price and chart right inside the text — your rules go next to it in plain words, and the economic data for them (real yield, policy rate, inflation) is fetched from public sources at the push of a button. Even the start page is such a text: the “Living Dashboard” describes which cards appear in which order — rearranged by hand or with one sentence to the local AI, which shows you what changes before anything is applied. Plain files in the data folder, open to Git and local AI.
Messages & address book
WhatsApp histories in one register, with media and access rights per binding; Outlook data files (PST) can be bound — Aviesto only reads them, copies nothing and backs nothing up, but offers full-text search and a view like a mail program: folder tree, list, reading pane with embedded pictures (the demo ships an invented mailbox to try). Below the picture timeline, e-mails and chats share the same time scale. And the address book stays a set of records under your own control: contacts travel to the phone as vCard, to Outlook as a data file (PST) or CSV — with photo, company, position, website and WhatsApp as the chat address. Devices get copies, you maintain one place.
Wealth & portfolio
Accounts and portfolios, import from Portfolio Performance, bank connection via CSV, FinTS and PSD2, wealth overview across property, investments and liquidity.
Retirement & simulation
Life simulation per person, Monte Carlo with success rate, withdrawal strategies and liquidity reserve, exit scenarios in comparison.
Estate
Inheritance-tax planning per German ErbStG, gifting roadmap with 10-year windows, usufruct modelled throughout, family tree.
Letting & contracts
Properties and units, contracts with a terms history, rent-payment matrix, rent increases per German §558 and index-linked rents with ready letters, deposit account with interest, dunning through to eviction, handover protocols.
Service charges & heating
Statements per German BetrKV and HeizkostenV including the CO₂ cost split, heating oil with day-exact price periods, water by meter — letters per tenant, batch print, email dispatch, adjustment of advances.
Tax
Groundwork for the German Anlage V with official line numbers, depreciation series, 15 %-limit traffic light, speculation period, tax-advisor export as ZIP including a DATEV-format posting batch.
Financing & purchase
Amortisation plans with extra repayments and rate adjustments, warning before the fixed-interest period ends, purchase calculator with cash flow and IRR after tax, loan optimisation.
Parcels & leases
Meadows, woodland and leased land with an outline from GeoJSON or the cadastre service, standard land values from the valuation committees (Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia), use, tenants and contracts; ownership with shares and heirs' communities including history, land consolidation as a procedure with predecessors and successors; verbal agreements with binding force, evidence and review date — and land in your total assets. Whatever does not add up shows as an open point; nothing is estimated.
Building model in 3D
The house as a CityJSON file from a surveyor, your own reconstruction or the state's LoD2 model (CityGML converted to CityJSON first): fitted on the map, or placed directly by its official UTM coordinates, shown in 3D in the browser with a cut per storey down to the basement. Clicking a flat lays out its paper plan with dimension chains; terrain, trees and site objects stand in the scene, several models (years, planning states) switch by tab, and the roof view lies on the parcel and property maps.
Projects & plans
Type the steps into the table like a list — indenting makes sub-steps, dependencies and Gantt follow from that; assign people while typing, hours per person, a print list to tick off. The same card for a house build, a trip, a wedding and a new letting; financial timeline with payment plan, invoices and balance forecast, exchange with MS Project.
Operations & communication
Receipts with photo and PDF filing, meters and oil tank with consumption forecast and oil-price overview, cases as Living Documents, inbox for tenant emails, inspection protocols for smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
Local AI
Receipt capture from PDFs, scans and photos, questions about your own data (“Ask Aviesto”) with answers from the calculation engine — via Ollama on your own hardware, no cloud.
Data & platform
All data as YAML/CSV text files in your own folder, readable without the app, backups built in; installers for Windows and Mac, Linux from source, manual as PDF. Phone and tablet reach your own computer via Tailscale, end-to-end encrypted, and the phone needs nothing but Tailscale — Aviesto is not reachable from the open internet.
